Somatic mindfulness: five things

Five things is a somatic, meditative exercise hosted by seven-year-old Emi, who reminds us of how simple it can be to check in with our senses and be grateful for the world surrounding us. In addition to the many things Emi is thankful for here, she also loves performing in school plays, dancing, reading Dog Man in her nook under the stairs, and winding down on her iPad with some LEGO shows or videos on how toys are made.
In this short mindfulness exercise, you will connect with your senses to notice what you are experiencing in the present moment.
What can you notice around you right now? This is a practice you can come back to any time you are anxious or caught up in your thoughts and feelings.
